Recreation is a natural part of life @ Saxony

At Saxony, you will want to take time to stop and enjoy nature. With 55 acres devoted to parks, recreational venues and open spaces, the opportunity to play or to simply relax is always just around the corner. Saxony’s abundant greenspace includes parks, natural wooded areas, playgrounds, walking paths, a private cubhouse with swimming pool, and a 20-acre lake.

No matter how you choose to unwind, you'll never have to go far from home, work, or school to find the ideal setting.

Some of the community's most popular events take place in Saxony's parks. These include 5k Runs, Yoga in the Park, neighborhood events, weddings, student recitals, and more.


Witten Park

Named after one of the most significant sculptors during the late Goth period in Saxony, Witten Park is home to 3.4 acres of recreational area, walking trails and unique public art sculptures.

Witten Park features public art sculptures by known artist, Dale Enochs. He created Rolling Rhythm specifically for the Saxony Community, which is found at this park.

Witten Park was named after Hans Witten who was famous for his "tulip pulpit" created for a cathedral in Saxony, Germany. He specialized in stone and wood carving.

Zimmer Park

Need a place to get a breath of fresh air, take a picnic, exercise, or bring children to play? Visit Zimmer Park!

Zimmer Park is located within walking distance from your neighborhood, on 131st Street and Saxony Boulevard. This private residential park features 4.02 acres of beautiful, mature trees, lighted walking trails, park benches and covered picnic area with tables.

Zimmer Park was named after a recognized Academy Award-winning, German-born composer and music producer. Hans Zimmer is also a pianist, but has been made famous for his many film scores which have won Academy Awards, Grammy Awards and Golden Globe Awards.

Saxony Playgrounds

The playgrounds at Saxony are a fun, safe place to let your children run and play right outside your front door. There are two playgrounds: one located adjacent to Witten Park and the other adjacent the Saxony residential Clubhouse and pool. These playgrounds are the perfect place for children of all ages to enjoy.

Saxony Fields

The Saxony Sports Fields, located adjacent to Witten Park, next to the Bonn Building, are the prime location for a variety of sports!

Home to children's soccer, football and adult sports leagues, the Saxony Sports Fields are utilized by the City of Fishers Parks & Recreation Department, Mudsock Youth Athletics and Saxony residents. The Saxony Sports Fields have hosted The Indianapolis Hurling Club, City of Fishers Movies in the Park, hot air balloon rides are available for various events.
